“Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also” (John 14:1-3).
Who am I?
I am a Bulgarian woman and I work as an English teacher and an English-Bulgarian translator. My name is Ekaterina Abadjieva, but in my sites I prefer using the pseudonym Lil to distinguish between my professional and my writing activities. Lil is an acronym meaning “Light is love/life” and is based on the statements of the Bible that God is “light”, “life” and “love”. As creatures made in His image and likeness, we all look like Him, which is why I dare use this acronym. In my native country, it is also part of a woman’s name meaning “water-lily” and of a word meaning “lilac” which I use as a domain name of one of my sites.
This site is about being homeless and finding a home.
I have never been very “homeful” in my life. I have lived in sixteen different places, including a boarding house, a student hostel and several rented rooms, but I became really homeless at the age of fifty-five when I started living on my own without a family and a home.
Now I have a new flat, new jobs, new friends, and new websites. I don’t believe this can happen without God’s help and intervention. I also believe that if He has done it once, He can do it again; if He has been able to do it here, in this world, He will be able to do it there, in His world. In a broader sense, He has already made us a “home” by creating the universe and the Earth as a planet, on which He has positioned us as the crown of His creation. This is a fact, which none of us can change, reverse or reproduce.
